Your Vision: You Are Endued with Power From On High
The desire to wield power is built into the nature of the human race. The fact is that when presented with an opportunity to exercise control over others, even in small, momentary ways, most humans will not shun the chance. Now I know that many learned scholars will counter with their theories and reasoning that an understanding of the psychology of power is not yet fully resolved—that the “will to power” may be more learned conditioning than natural instinctive behavior. But the wisdom of their scholarship is foolishness to God. In the supernatural world in which we also exist, the will to power is a general force underlying all reality. Collectively the entire world seeks power. From family relationships, to school cliques, to local school boards, to politics at all levels, to nations, I believe that most people seek some measure of power and control over others. Unfortunately, the power that is arrogated by the world is intimately intertwined with the satanic kingdom.
1 John 5:19
19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.
Sorry, but the wisdom of man to explain the psychology of power is simply futile. Such can save much time and energy by admitting that all worldly power struggle stems from the powers of evil—period.
As with everything in the Kingdom of God, the Father has a way of turning everything upside down from what we understand by our worldly thinking. The same is true with God’s Power. His Power is encompassed in the tenets and ways of His Kingdom. Those who are part of the Kingdom are granted the privilege of working within, though, and in demonstration of the ultimate Power of the universe, of heaven and of earth. With God, you are a force of unparalleled Power.
In the reality of God’s ordained system of how the universe works, there are only two spiritual forces: the Power of God and the power of evil controlled by the devil. Nothing exists in-between. The devil uses his power to steal, to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10). God uses His Power to draw out a good and loving people from amongst the world and use His creative forces of Power to provide an everlasting life of abundance. He uses His Power to create. The devil uses his power to destroy.
So with this epic struggle between the two powers taking place, you are given an opportunity by God to participate as a member of His family in using and demonstrating His Power to create goodness and peace in your life and in others. God has granted His children the authority to access and use His mighty powers to help overcome all trials and tribulations and flow in a river of life through the barren desert of this troubled planet.
Jesus spoke often of the Power that believers are to receive:
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.
What is this Power? These verses from the Bible tell us that this is the very Power of God! And it is placed inside of us when we receive the Holy Spirit. This Power gives us the ability to manifest miracles, to heal the sick, raise the dead, trample and defeat anything deadly that tries to rise up against us, to overcome all lack and poverty, to have a sound mind, to prophesy about the future, to teach and preach the Word of God, to cast out devils, and control nature including weather, plants, trees, all wild life, insects, fish.
This Power will overcome the mistakes of the past, cancel debt, eliminate depression, crush mental anguish, grief, frustration and anxiety. This Power will cause you to walk in the high places of the Kingdom, above the storms, over every obstacle, and through all resistance.
The Word of God undergirds this power and the Spirit of God living inside of you makes this available. Just how much of this Power is available to you?
34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.
God says here that He does not give the Holy Spirit by measure. He gives us all of the Spirit, including all of the Power of the Spirit. All of God—all things—are given into the hands of Jesus. Since Jesus has also given us all things, we also have all things of the Father. We have all the Power. All of it.
All believers are supposed to demonstrate this Power—it is supposed to accompany your teaching and preaching of the Word of God.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5
4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us
17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 . . . they will lay hands on the sick and the will recover.
This is REAL Power! God’s Power. Miracle working, sight giving, lame walking, mute talking, disease withering, demon fleeing, signs and wonders demonstrating, God speaking, prophecy uttering, knowing all things, POWER. The realm of the supernatural. Unless you allow Jesus to baptize you in the Holy Spirit, you will never receive this Power from on high to do the works of God.
If you’ve been attending a church where this Power is absent, then you should consider a closer examination of their doctrine, and perhaps get out of there as quickly as you can. The Word of God is supposed to be accompanied by miracles, signs and wonders, healing, and deliverance.
Do not back away from this Power. You must seek it and make it an integral part of your spiritual DNA. That is the beginning of being endued with the Power of God.
